I believe in the inherent dignity of every human being. I motivate change through supportive affirmation, caring inquiry, and a trauma-informed approach. My goal is always to find the beauty and power in what is and to help clients find their own path toward manifesting their biggest dreams.
As an Abenaki woman, a survivor of family violence, a lesbian, feminist, mother of two and an ordained Episcopal priest, I bring a wealth of lived experience to my consulting work. I also bring nearly 30 years, of professional experience in human services where I have worked along-side, and on-behalf-of, survivors of violence and abuse, the unhoused, the food-insecure, those living with the effects of economic injustice and racial disparities, and those who seek to end systemic oppression in its many forms. I have worked as a state-wide director, a non-profit director, a community organizer, and an individual advocate.
My expertise includes extensive experience in trauma prevention and intervention, change management, organizational development, reflective supervision, effective communication, diversity and inclusion, policy change and advocacy. As an advocate, consultant, and coach, I have worked with non-profits, state and federal government agencies, politicians and legislatures (state and national). I have thousands of hours of experience consulting, presenting, and training on trauma responsiveness, burn-out prevention and resilience development to individuals, groups and leaders across various human services sectors including violence prevention, child care, housing and shelter, state government, public health and many more.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Women’s Studies and a Master’s in Divinity with a focus on Feminist Theology. I have been trained as a pastor and a hospital Chaplain in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
I believe strongly in the inherent dignity of every human being and in every person’s right to live in safety and with a sense of well-being. And sometimes it takes a little help to get there.
“I have worked with Auburn on a number of events and projects for my organization. She immediately puts people at ease - her calming and caring presence is so important in this work. She listens to what staff really need and gives them just the right tools to take care of themselves and their colleagues.”
